HP OfficeJet 8010 All-in-One Printer

My MAC runs on OS13.0 Ventura which HP doesnt seem to support even though millions of people use it now. I went to scan on my Officejet 8010 and get the "Create an account to scan with your printer using HP Smart". What?? I have to have an account or use an account to scan on the printer I bought to use when and how I want ? You have to be joking?? I have tried everything to simply take a scan to no avail. I am up to date with all recent upgrades/updates. I have been able to scan no problems for a long time but all of a sudden I have to create or use an account. This is unbelievable when all I want to do is simply scan 1 document.

Hi @Unhappy32,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are facing issues with scanning. I'd like to help!

Try the AirPrint and see if that helps. As the HP Officejet 8610 seems not compatible with Mac os 13.

Hello, thanks for your reply but the advice you have given does not make any sense.

Airprint???? But HP's own advice points to HP Smart app which seems to be the whole cause of the problem.  I ma using an HP 8010 printer on a macPro on os Ventura. My wife is using a Mac Air on os Catalina on to the same printer. Both our computers used to scan no problem although printing is always a toss a coin in the air procedure as to success. So now, 2 macs on different OS dont work on the HP "smart" app. I have tried many work arounds to no success.  we can print, and the macs know the 8010 is there, but it refuses to scan.  I have had to use Image capture on the mac to overcome the problem. As for the HP "smart" app thats another story.  You have said to use airprint?? I have no idea what it is or where it is. I have looked it up and cant make any sense of where to get it, or what it does, soI am su=orry you request to use airprint does not make any sense to me.
