Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

I can scan from the printer to the PC no problem and all other functions of the printer are working via the HP Smart app on my android phone but suddenly the Printer Scanner option doesn't work - it takes me to the screen where it says to place the document on the printer and press start but the start button doesn't become active.  The whole screen is non responsive with the exception of crossing out of it or selecting a different source which i don't want to do.  I have uninstalled and re-installed the app, I have switched off and on again (printer and phone) - NOTHING!  Please help.

I see that you are not able to scan using the HP Smart app.

 

Make sure the Android device and the app is up to date.
