I understand your HP app not opening when you try to scan with your phone. Let’s go through a few checks.

Restart the Phone and Printer

  • Turn OFF the printer using the Power button.
  • Restart your phone completely.
  • Turn the printer back ON after the phone restarts.
  • Wait until the printer shows ready with no errors.
  • Open the HP app again and try scanning.

Check the App Permissions

  • Open Settings on your phone.
  • Tap Apps or Applications.
  • Select the HP app from the list.
  • Tap Permissions.
  • Ensure Camera, Storage, and Local Network permissions are enabled.

Note: The app may fail to open scanning features if required permissions are disabled.

Update the HP App

  • Open the App Store or Google Play Store on your phone.
  • Search for the HP app.
  • Check if an Update button appears.
  • Install the update if available.
  • Open the app again and attempt the scan.

Reinstall the HP App

  • Press and hold the HP app icon on your phone.
  • Select Uninstall or Remove App.
  • Restart the phone after uninstalling.
  • Reinstall the HP app from the app store.
  • Open the app and add your printer again before scanning.
