Hi

since the last version of HP smart automatically installed last week I cannot scan with the application

I have tried to use the HP print and scan doctor only problem is with HP Twain but MFP scan is OK

I have deinstalled and reinstalled HP smart no success

I can scan by calling directly MFP scan app or paint or windows scan tool.

the MFP scan has a totally different look and feel compared to HP smart.

and when I call scanning from HP smart I get (in french) numerisation momentanement indisponible (scanning temporarily unavailable)

and by the way the initial load of the app takes forever (was quick before)  and I have an I7 processor so...

 

thnaks for telling me if with HP laser MFP 178 179 HP smart no longer work under windows 10 , for the moment it still works on apple mac OSX 10.15.6 so far but for how long ?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

 

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Color Laser printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

  • If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall printer Basic drivers from the link: Click here
  • If the issue still continues, install using the Windows Built-in Print DriverClick here
