My hp9015 all of the sudden will not scan, prints fine.

When your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer is able to print but encountering issues with scanning, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:

1. Check Scan Settings and Connection

Verify Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. Both printing and scanning require a stable network connection.If using a wired connection, check the Ethernet cable connection between the printer and your router or switch.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and your computer to refresh their connections and clear any temporary issues.

Update Firmware and Software:

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download any available firmware updates.Update the HP Smart app or any other scanning software you are using on your computer.

2. Check Scanner Settings

  1. Verify Scanner Settings:
    • Open the HP Smart app or your computer's scanning software.Check the scanner settings to ensure they are configured correctly. Ensure that the correct scanner is selected if your computer has multiple scanners installed.

3. Restart HP Smart App or Scanning Software:

  • Close the HP Smart app or scanning software on your computer.Reopen the software and attempt to scan again.

4. Run Windows Troubleshooter (Windows Only)

  • If you are using Windows, use the built-in troubleshooter to diagnose and fix scanning problems:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.Select "Printer" and run the troubleshooter to detect and resolve issues with the printer.

5. Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer and then reinstall it:
    • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.Find your printer software in the list, right-click on it, and select "Uninstall".Download the latest printer software from the HP website and reinstall it following the on-screen instructions.

6. Perform a Printer Reset:

  • If the issue persists, perform a reset on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer:
    • Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for 60 seconds.Reconnect the power cord, turn on the printer, and try scanning again.
