Hi @heshf,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering some frustration with HP Smart, likely related to email settings or preferences. Here are a few steps you can take to potentially resolve this issue.

  • Check for Alternative Options: In some cases, HP Smart may offer alternatives to Outlook for sending scanned documents or emails. Look for any dropdown menus or settings within the application that might allow you to select a different email client.
  • Update HP Smart: Ensure that you have the latest version of HP Smart installed on your device. Sometimes, updates include bug fixes or new features that might address compatibility issues with email clients.
  • Consider Workarounds: If you're unable to use a different email client within HP Smart, you could consider saving scanned documents to your device and then manually attaching them to emails in a client of your choice.
  • Check Default Email Client Settings: Ensure that your preferred email client is set as the default on your device. Sometimes, applications will default to the system default email client for sending emails.

By trying these steps, you may be able to either resolve the issue with HP Smart or find alternative methods for sending scanned documents without having to use Outlook.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for trying.

I have tried it all.

It seems that HP is in love with Microsoft and allow the use of any other product.

I have been using Thunderbird for many years and have no desire to switch.

Until now I was able to use the simple Microsoft Mail app as a backup and that worked

However, Microsoft decided to get rid of and that is what caused the current situation

So, I have been forced to use workarounds.

That does not make HP look too great by forcing a customer to use a particular app

which is not even theirs.

Thanks again

Judah
