I hope you do not mind me adding you to this post, but I noticed you were recently helpful in similar posts. Sorry for the imposition. Thanks! Jim

Yesterday, I installed an HP OfficeJet 6978 on my HP 17T-BY200 Laptop.

Now, when I do a custom scan with Scanner set to "HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 TWAIN" or "WIA-HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 (NET)", the first page scans in and the scan cancels, and when I do a custom scan with Scanner set to "WIA-HPC13E60 (HP OfficeJet Pro 69", the pages in the ADF are ignored and the scan is performed on the flatbed.

How do I scan using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.23) and the HP OfficeJet 6978 ADF?

@JimTheMathMan, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Here is a document that can help you scan using the Adobe Acrobat XI Pro- https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/scan-documents-pdf.html(This is a third-party link. Please do not click on any ad, image, download, popup or link or anywhere else as this is a third-party link meant only for viewing information).

Now, to use the ADF first check if you're able to make photocopies on the printer using ADF. If that works, try the steps below-

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2) Select your HP Printer

3) Select Uninstall

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”

😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab

9) Look for an HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10) Select Ok

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12) Close Devices and Printers.

Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer and try scanning.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
