Hi @TischcoKid1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 9010 scanner does not show an option to save scanned files as PDFs. There are a few potential reasons and solutions to resolve this issue.

Potential Reasons and Solutions:

Software Installation:

  • Ensure that you have installed the full-feature software and drivers for your HP printer. You can download and install the full feature drivers from Official HP® Support. This often includes additional options for document processing, such as OCR (Optical Character Recognition) capabilities and saving files as PDF.

HP Scan Application:

  • Use the HP Scan application associated with your printer. This application generally offers more file format options, including PDF, for saving scanned documents.

HP App:

Printer Settings:

  • Verify that the scanning settings in your printer or HP software are configured to allow saving as PDF. Navigate through the HP software or Embedded Web Server (EWS) settings to ensure the PDF option is enabled for scan jobs.

Default Scanner Software:

  • Ensure you are using HP's proprietary scanning software rather than any default or third-party scanning software that may not support PDF output.

Selecting Output Type:

  • When scanning, ensure that you select the correct option within the scanning interface that allows for document formats such as PDF under the file type or output settings.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
