Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I keep getting "Incorrect credentials. Check your username/password and try again." error when adding a Mac shared folder to the Scan to Network Folder using the HP OfficeJet Pro 87100 EWS (embedded web server).

For the network path I use \\<ip address>\Scans (note not smb:\\<ip address>\Scans, since it rejects the smb: part).

On the Mac, I have shared this folder plus enabled the SMB File sharing.
I correctly configured the User access (Read & Write) and disabled the "Allow guest users" for this share.

I've entered the correct User Name and PW a thousand times!

And I still get this error.

Make sure you used the correct syntax when using SMB

The link you provided only shows how to share the folder on the Mac. As I indicated earlier, I have followed those instructions, but I still get this error. I know that the printer is attempting to connect to the correct Mac share, since it's questioning the login credentials instead of saying it can't find the share.

I've tried setting up the share as "Guest" user an.d selecting "No login credentials" but that didn't work either.

Please note that we recently updated this Mac to the latest OS. (I can't recall the exact version, since I'm currently not in front of it). Has there been a change in the security management that maybe preventing this login?

I posted the link so you could confirm syntax, sorry that did resolve the issue.

My next suggestion would be to check the Apple forums as there is going to be a lot more people with direct experience on MAC OS.

You could also check which SMB protocols are active on the printer.

How do I check the SMB protocols on the printer?

I do not work on consumer inkjet products, hopefully this screenshot from a Pagewide will be similar enough for you to find what you need.
