How do I scan multiple pictures with photosmart 5520 to iPad
12-13-2020 10:02 AM

I would like to scan multiple pics with photosmart 5520 on to iPad and have them autocrop and option to autocorrect

I'd like that, too.
If you are referring to HP Smart Mobile,
then
HP Smart (iOS) does not (at this writing) include this feature.
The PC / MacOS versions of HP Smart are more robust, though, even those versions are more limited than would be the Full Solution software (PC / MacOS).
If you wish to do so,
If you can get a hold of a Windows system,
I can show you how to do at least part of what you need using the Windows printer software.
Does that mean you cannot have what you want?
Unsure - The Apple App store might include something that would do what you want.
The printer doesn't care and can do this - it is the application / software that controls the output.

How would I do this with a windows system?
It would be better to have what we want, of course. Smiling.
Windows - Multiple scans saved to individual files
Download-save-install the Full Feature Software
HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.
The software installs the Printer Assistant shortcut icon on the Desktop.
Normally, you can reach the Scan software from the Printer Assistant.
Depending on the version of your printer software, there might also be a shortcut on the Desktop for HP Scan.
Printer_Assistant_Shortcut_Icon_on_Desktop
Open the Printer Assistant > select Scan > open HP Scan
OR
If the shortcut is available on the Desktop, open HP Scan using the shortcut
The software might already include the option to "Detect boundaries" (wording varies) - for example, the Page Size might include "Detect Content on Page", "Detect Photos", or similar wording.
Example
9025_HP_Scan_menu_JPEG_1
Place your photos on the printer glass - separate each by about an inch to make sure the software can "see" the individual photos.
Open HP Scan
Select to scan photos / images
Select the Page Size for "Detecting boundaries"
Set other options
For example, open More > Destination to set / adjust the folder location\
Click OK to exit the Destination menu
(Check other "subcategories" for additional options - Click OK to leave a sub-menu.)
When ready, click Scan
What if?
If your HP Full Feature Software lacks the "detect boundaries" option,
You can add (install) this auxiliary scan software:
HP Scan Extended
- Download-Save-Install > HP Scan Extended
- HPSE is a subset an older Full Feature Software suite.
- HPSE features are very similar to the HP Scan Software released after 2015.
- Although HPSE appears to be a separate software, HPSE is dependent on the infrastructure provided by the Full Feature Software. The Full Feature Software for your printer should be installed before installing and using HPSE.
- OPTIONAL: Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
- Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin
- Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Pin to Taskbar
- Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Send to Desktop (Create a Shortcut)
- Right-Click HPScan.exe > Select Pin to Start
- HP Scan Extended features include (and are not limited to): Single, Multiple scans, Image and PDF scans, Email as PDF / JPEG, Source selection, Page Size choices include Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary). Might include OCR (Save as Editable Text).
What if?
If you need to further edit / adjust the scanned files, you can do so by opening the image file (.jpg) and editing the content of that file.
