Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Should be on your compouter when you installed your printer.   But if not...

Scanning issues…

Please try this scan solution:

HP Scan Extended

For Windows:   ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Make searchable PDF scans with this free scanning software -   https://www.naps2.com/

Yes, under Destination/File Type uncheck Separate file for Each scanned page.

On the printer/scanner window, after hitting 'scan', my first and only option is 'scan to computer'. Then on the screen 'select computer', I pick my computer. Then on the screen 'scan type', I pick 'document'. Next screen is headed ''confirm start scan', then 'document to file' then 'start scan' on the bottom. No options to change anything unless I'm missing something.

All done from the HP Scan software from your computer.

Officejet pro 6830

I have followed all the advice above but still cant scan both sides of a document into 1 file.

I have now extended HP Scan - which is great. and the box is unticked for create seperate files.

I set the source as flat bed it chnages page sides to 1 sided.

If I go back to Document feeder I can have a 2 sided document. Either way the printer doesnt offer me the option to scan the second side of my document like my old one did.
