Hi, until a few months ago, I was able to use Scan > Email with no problem. I was asked to select my email address and PIN, then the subject matter of my document or email; and state whether the document was 1- or 2-sided. Then it started telling me that the password I have been using for the last 4 years was incorrect!!!
I have already followed the support assistant's suggestions of removing my printer from my PC and re-installing the software, neither of which worked; and now I have re-set to factory defaults as I figured I could just re-set my password, but now it states that HP Direct Digital Filing is not set up. From this point following the instructions, I go around in circles and am left "high and dry" each time as nothing happens!
Using the Apps > Scan to Email feature is very slow, scans only from the flatbed glass and enters a standard subject line of "Scanned document from HP ePrint User", which is not what I want, nor particularly useful.
Can anyone help me please? Basically, I can now only print and copy from my printer and can't scan which is what I use it for mainly.
Thank you.

In so much that I am aware, the 8620 model does continue to support the Scan to Email (not from Apps).
Assuming the printer is on the network, the setup be available (plus easier to configure and manage) in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Following are some examples (actually pulled from a related thread ). The examples are from a different printer; the setup may be enough the same that the examples are helpful..

Commentary and Examples
The following might be helpful if your printer provides the "Scan to Email" setup in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Once you have the setup in place, you can go back and edit the Profile (if desired / necessary).
Notes
- Even if your Scan to Email setup is available in EWS, it may look different from the examples included in this post.
- The example email was set up with two-step verification OFF and "allow insecure apps" ON. If you do not want to risk your main email account, consider creating a separate email to be used with this feature. You can always "forward" the emails along to another account.
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
tab Scan
