Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

When I try to scan with  HPSmart I'm required to sign in to a HP account, however when signing in I receive an error message. " We’re experiencing connectivity issues related to account access. This could happen if you are connected to a VPN. Exit setup and try again later to resolve this issue. Error Code: OW_500_OWSID00001)." I have a HP Officejet Pro8715, this is a new issue I have been using this printer and HP Smart Start for many years without signing in or any other issues.  Help!

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

Try to uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app and scan again. 

 

If that doesn't work, we'd recommend to use the HP FULL software solution:

I had the same issue. I disconnected from my VPN as well as disconnected from my WiFi. Reconnected to WiFi and HP Smart pulled up. This is a pain put the work around my IT department showed me was even a bigger pain. Not a great set up for a lot of us working from home. Hope there is a fix soon HP.
