@tjharrison, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Connection Issues with HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e Scanner!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e scanner is having trouble connecting to your computer, follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:

Ensure Proper Setup and Connections

  1. Check Connections: Make sure the USB cable (for a wired connection) is securely connected or that your printer is properly connected to the network (for wireless connections).
  2. Restart Devices: Turn off your printer and computer, wait a few moments, and then turn them back on. This can often resolve connection problems.

Update or Reinstall Drivers

  1. Check for Driver Updates: Visit HP's Support Page to check for any software updates or new drivers for your printer model.
  2. Reinstall Printer Software: If updating drivers does not help, reinstall the printer software. Go to 123.hp.com to download the latest version for your printer.

Network Troubleshooting for Wireless Connections

  1. Check Wi-Fi Signal: Ensure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router and that there are no obstructions causing interruptions.
  2. Verify Network Connection: Use the printer’s control panel to run a network test report. This can help identify network-related issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
