I am not able to scan in HP DJ 3835 GETTING " An error occured while scanning"

Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am getting "An error occured while scanning" error when I am trying to scan a document with my new printer HP DJ 3830. My printer is connected with the PC and I am able to print and Copy successfully. I could scanner light moving when I try to scan but still get ""An error occured while scanning". Please help

To resolve your concern, you may follow the steps below:

  1. Search Windows for your printer model name, and click the printer name in the list of results. HP Printer Assistant opens.
  2. Click Scanner Actions, and then click Manage Scan to Computer.
  3. Click Enable to activate the scan to computer option.

Try to scan and check if this works, if the issue persists, follow the below step.


Run the Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor  to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.

After the Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Fix Scanning to test your scanner, and then follow any instructions to resolve the issue.

Try to scan. If the error persists, continue to the next step.
