To assist you better, are you using a Win PC or a MAC?

How is the printer connected?

A full-feature printer driver is required to be installed on the computer for you to be able to scan from the printer screen.

I am using a PC and the HP Envy Photo 7134 is supposed to be wireless.  It will now print from the PC but wont scan without using the app.  I have been told that it has to be wired to scan, however, even though I have connected it with a hard wire it is still hit and miss.  I do not want to have to keep using the app.  I prefer using the printer screen.

 

No idea what 'a full feature printer driver' is.

I understand you are trying to scan from the printer screen using the 'scan to computer' option. This requires a full-feature printer driver to be installed on the computer.

Check if you have one installed. If not, click here to download the HP Full-feature driver. (Wired or wireless)

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Open the HP Printer Assistant > Go to Scan > Manage Scan to computer > Enable

 

Try scanning.
