Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

My scanner stopped sending my scans to my computer files. My printer/scanner runs off of the Wi-Fi, it is not directly patched into my computer by cable, but I have had no difficulties all these years until now. I have made sure everything is updated, there are no problems listed in the tech support diagnostics with this printer/scanner so now I am lost as to why all of a sudden, this issue is happening.

Hi @Valw56,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP printer/scanner has stopped saving scanned files to your computer, even though it’s connected via Wi-Fi and everything was working fine before. Let’s go through some steps to troubleshoot this.

a. Check Scan Destination Settings
 - Open the HP Smart app or HP Scan software on your computer.
 - Verify that the scan destination folder is correctly set (Documents or a custom folder).
 - Sometimes, updates or network changes can reset this path.

b. Confirm Network Connection
 - Make sure both the printer/scanner and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
 - Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to confirm its IP address and network status.

c. Test Scanning from HP Smart App
 - Open HP Smart → select Scan → Computer.
 - Try scanning a test page and see if it prompts for a folder to save or gives any errors.

d. Check Firewall or Security Software
 - Some firewalls or antivirus programs block the connection between the scanner and computer.
 - Temporarily disable firewall/security software and try scanning again.

e. Restart Devices
 - Power cycle both the printer/scanner and computer.
 - Sometimes the connection between Wi-Fi devices can drop after updates or temporary network issues.

f. Reinstall or Repair HP Software
 - If scanning still fails, open Apps & Features → HP software → Repair (or uninstall and reinstall the latest HP Smart / HP Scan software).
 - This ensures that any corrupted files or network settings are restored.

g. Check for Multiple Scan Destinations
 - If the printer was previously set to scan to email or cloud, make sure it’s still configured to scan locally to the computer.

h. Test Scanning to Another Folder or Device
 - Change the destination folder temporarily to another location on your computer.
 - If it works, the original folder may have permission issues or network path problems.

I hope this helps.
