Scanning is no longer working. I deleted the HP app and reinstalled it according to your recommendation. It will not complete the installation because it says I have to allow location, but it is an option.

Hi @DBearden,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If the scanning feature on your HP ENVY Inspire 7921e All-in-One Printer is not working due to location permissions during the app installation, please follow these steps:

1. Check Location Services

  • Enable Location Services: Make sure that location services are enabled on your device. This may be required for the HP app to properly detect and communicate with your printer.
    • On Windows: Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Location and make sure Location services is turned on.
    • On iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and ensure it is enabled for the HP app.
    • On Android: Go to Settings > Location and enable location access.

2. Grant Location Permissions

  • App-Specific Permissions: Ensure the HP app has permission to access your location.
    • On Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Find the HP app, and check permissions to ensure Location is allowed.
    • On iOS/Android: Find the HP app in your settings and verify that location access is allowed.

3. Reinstall the HP App

  • Delete and Reinstall: If location permissions were not the issue, delete the HP app once more and reinstall it from the official HP APP or your device's app store, ensuring you allow all necessary permissions during setup.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Restart Printer: Sometimes a simple reset can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it for a few seconds, and then power it back on.

5. Update the Printer Driver

6. Network Connection

  • Check Network: Ensure that your printer and device are on the same network. A stable Wi-Fi connection is critical for scanning.
  • Re-establish Connection: If necessary, disconnect and then reconnect the printer to your network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
