We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I have an HP 8610 Office Jet and I set up the scan to email feature at my business location and it worked just fine.  I moved the printer to another location and the scan to email function no longer works.  I receive the error message username / password invalid.  I have tried everything I can think of to resolve the issue.  Please help.

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following

 

1.) Are you trying to perform a scan to email from the printer's control panel or from your Mac?

2.) Who is the Email provider?

3.) Is your email account configured in the mail account?

4.) Is your printer connected to the Web-Services?

5.) Are you able to log in via webmail? Make sure you don’t use an autofill password in web browser.

6.) Is there a 2-factor authentication setup?

7.) Did you recently change the password?

Thank you for your note.  

 

1. I am trying to email from the printer control board.  I used to be able to do that, simply enter my 4 digit passcode.  Now, I receive the error message username / passcode invalid.  I can email from my Mac, however, it is single page scans and I am scanning documents with multiple pages.

7. No I did not recently change my password.  However, I recently moved my printer from a work location to my home location.  That is when I stopped working.

Some email account service providers, such as Google or Yahoo, block access by third-party apps for security reasons. To allow the scan to email feature access to your email account, go to your email account service provider for detailed steps.

NOTE: 

If you turned on two-step authentication, you must create an application password for the scan to email feature to access to your email account. See your email account provider for more information.
