Hi @Jimmy183,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet 3835 All-In-One Printer. It's frustrating to encounter issues with your printer's scanner, especially when you rely on it for various tasks. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check Connections: Ensure that all cables connecting your printer to the computer are securely plugged in. Also, make sure there are no loose connections between the printer and the power source.
  • Update Drivers: Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause scanning problems. Visit the HP website, search for your printer model, and download the latest drivers and software compatible with Windows 10. Install them and see if it resolve the issue. • HP Print and Scan Doctor: Since you've already tried this tool, it's good to know it didn't resolve the issue entirely. However, you can try running it again after ensuring your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes, the tool can fix issues with the scanning functionality.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows 10 operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates include fixes for compatibility issues that might affect your printer's functionality.
  • Check Scanner Settings: Open the HP printer software on your computer and navigate to the scanner settings. Ensure that the settings are configured correctly and that the scanner is set as the default scanning device.
  • Reset Printer Settings: You can try resetting your printer to its default settings. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
