Hi @klewis_2680,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting error code 0x6100004a on an HP OfficeJet 6958 All-In-One Printer typically indicates a hardware issue related to the ink system.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve this error:

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and seated correctly. Sometimes, a loose or incorrectly installed cartridge can cause this error.
  • Replace or Reinstall Ink Cartridges: If the ink cartridges are low on ink or empty, replace them with new ones. If they are already new, try removing them and reinstalling them properly.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and unplug it. Remove the ink cartridges and clean the contacts on both the cartridges and the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a power reset on the printer. Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer, and then unplug the power cord from the power source. Wait for at least 60 seconds, and then plug the power cord back into the power source. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model on the HP website. Updating the firmware may resolve various issues, including error codes. Update the firmware on an HP printer
