Microsoft Windows 11

I just bought a new HP 5001, not the 5001e.

Is it possible to scan several pages and save in one .pdf document?

Hi @WAFFLE11,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I can provide you with general information on scanning multiple pages into a single PDF document using a flatbed or sheet-fed scanner. Keep in mind that the specific steps might vary depending on the software that came with your scanner.

Here's a general guide.

  • Install Scanner Software: Ensure that you have installed the appropriate software and drivers for your HP scanner. Check the user manual or visit the HP support website for the latest software and drivers.
  • Place Pages in the Scanner: Load the pages you want to scan into the scanner's document feeder or onto the flatbed, depending on the scanner type.
  • Open Scanner Software: Open the scanning software on your computer. This software may be the one that came with your scanner or a third-party application.
  • Select Scan Settings: Choose the settings for your scan, such as color mode, resolution, and document type.
  • Enable Multi-page or Document Feeder Option: Look for an option that enables multi-page scanning or using the document feeder. This option is usually present in the scanning settings.
  • Preview the Scan: Use the preview feature to see how the scanned pages will appear. Adjust settings if necessary.
  • Scan and Save: Initiate the scan process. After each page is scanned, the software may prompt you to add additional pages. Continue scanning until all pages are captured.
  • Save as PDF: When you have finished scanning all pages, look for an option to save the scanned document. Choose the PDF format as the output file type.
  • Name and Save the PDF: Provide a name for your PDF file and choose the destination folder where you want to save it. Click "Save" or a similar option.

These steps should give you a single PDF document containing all the scanned pages. If there are specific features or settings for your HP 5001 scanner, refer to the user manual or the help documentation that came with the scanner.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
