Hello I'm trying to see if my fax is working on my HP Officejet 3830 printer. Should my fax papers start pulling into the machine before my contact answers? Or will they pull in after my contact answers? Currently my contact isn't answering so the fax papers aren't pulling into the machine. Is this normal?

This is normal, when the connection is established with receiving fax machine then the sending fax machine starts to feed the original for faxing.
