I am trying to delete old email address on my scanner but it's asking for a PIN which i don't have because those emails are no longer in use.

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Ah, the classic forgotten PIN dilemma! 😅 No worries, we can get around this and remove that old email from your scanner. Here’s what to do:

 

Try Default Admin PIN: Printers use a default PIN like 000000 or 123456. Give that a shot.

 

Check the printer’s embedded web server (EWS):

  • Find printer's Ip address; you can do this by printing the network configuration page
  • Enter that IP address in a web browser to access the EWS settings.
  • Look for Scan to Email settings under "Web Services" and see if you can reset or remove emails there.

Use HP Smart App: Open HP Smart on your computer, go to printer settings, and see if it lets you change or remove the email without needing a PIN.

 

Reset the Printer’s Admin Password: If it’s locked with an admin PIN, a factory reset may be needed.

  • On the printer’s screen, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • This will reset everything, so you will need to setup everything again.
