@Leeofthefamilye, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're frustrated with having to reset your HP printer every time you want to scan from your mobile device. Let's work together to resolve this so you can scan smoothly without repeated resets.

Use the HP Smart App

Make sure you're using the HP Smart app for scanning. It provides the most stable experience for mobile scanning.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer

Sometimes, network glitches cause repeated scan failures. Resetting the network settings can help.

  • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi using the HP Smart app.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause scanning issues.

Avoid Using "Scan to Email" or "Scan to Network Folder" Without Setup

If you're using features like Scan to Email or Scan to Network Folder, ensure they are properly configured. Otherwise, use the HP Smart app for direct mobile scanning.

Perform a Soft Reset (if needed)

If the issue persists, try a soft reset:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.
