Hi @PJC0804,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Ensure Printer Compatibility
Make sure your HP Smart Tank 520 printer is compatible with your macOS version.
Download HP Smart App
Make sure you have downloaded the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com or the Mac App Store.
Add the Printer to HP Smart
- Open the HP Smart app on your MacBook Air.
- If prompted, create or sign in to an HP account.
- Click on Add a New printer or the plus sign + to find your printer.
- Ensure your MacBook Air and your printer are on the same Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz Wi-Fi supported).
- Follow the prompts in HP Smart to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network and your device.
Troubleshoot Printer Detection Issues
If HP Smart fails to detect your printer:
- Restart your printer and MacBook Air.
- Ensure your printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook Air.
- Check if the printer’s Wi-Fi light is blinking, indicating it is in setup mode.
- Move the printer closer to your Wi-Fi router to ensure a strong signal.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
