HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer shows very low on cartridge, and has for a few months, but prints fine.  Windows printer test page run today does not seem to indicate a problem.  Wireless Network Test Report from today shows no problems found.

Until today, I have scanned pages with no problem.  Now, when I select SCAN, I get a spinning cursor and then it reverts to the screen where I selected SCAN.

I loaded the full webpack and the HP Print and Scan Dr. but I'm not getting anywhere.

Windows 10 (64 bit)

I've tried the virtual chat, followed directions, but no luck.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @binaz ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try first this:

  1. shut down printer via on/off switch
  2. switch off the router
  3. shut down the computer
  4. wait about 60 sec.
  5. switch on the router, wait until the router has completely initialized itself again
  6. Switch on the printer, wait until the printer has finished its initialization
  7. switch on computer, log in (with admin rights) and wait about 10 sec.

... and now everything's working again?

If that doesn't help, here's what you need to do:

  1. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list.
The complete HP printer software must be removed.
  2. Restart the PC
  3. Close all programs
  4. download only
    - this complete package: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw Printer Full Software Solution
    - and this package: Readiris Pro
  5. Close all programs
  6. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the File name: Full_Webpack-44.9.2760-LJM148M149_UWWL_3-1_Full_Webpack.exe (236.7 MB)
  7. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
  8. Restart the PC again
  9. Now the 1. installation is complete.
  10. Now, open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the File name: Readiris15ProHPWin.zip (381.8 MB)

ReadIris Pro provides your HP product with advanced OCR and scanning features. Easily convert your paper documents into editable and searchable PDF files, ready to be stored and shared.
    NOTE:
    • Printer must be powered on and connected via USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet

If errors are displayed, document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
