Hi, all.  The ADF on this printer has a problem I haven't seen described elsewhere.  Pages do not get stuck inside the ADF, but after they exit.  This issue only happens when there is already paper in the ADF's output tray, so I'm thinking this problem is mechanical/physical, not electronic in nature.

When pages exit the ADF they scrape against the bottom of the output tray, which means they always push on the paper that's already in the output tray instead of landing on top of them.  This either pushes the previously scanned pages out of the tray or the page that is coming out of the ADF will crumple up against the previously scanned pages, which finally results in the unit sensing a jam.

I've opened up the ADF as much as I can without dismantling it and blown the top and the bottom out with compressed air, and that made no difference.  I'll go through the steps I've seen recommended elsewhere, but any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello JaymenCajun;

Based on your description that sounds like a physical (hardware) issue: apparently there is an issue either in the last portion of the ADF paper path or the output bin itself. If that is the case, that will require physical touch to be repaired.

If your printer is still under warranty, you can call tech support for further help. If your printer is out of warranty, you cant take it to a certified repair center for further inspection.
