We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

laserjet color M283fdw
macOS 12.0 Monterey

A client has a 6-months old color laserjet M283fdw.

I set it up for network scanning - scan to network folder - to 2 macs.

On each destination, we created a unique scanner user account, then added a share folder, giving the scanner account full access.

The scans worked great for a month. Now the printer immediately fails when we try a scan. 

In the web gui, testing the scans (and verifying authentication) works successfully.

we're connecting via SMB via IP address, i've verified the IPs haven't changed, nor have the share permissions. Both macs stopped working at the same time. 

The firmware on the printer is up to date. 

Tried a 10-min unplugged power cycle as well. All devices hard wired to network.

Anyone else have any ideas? Again, nothing has changed on the network.

the scanner immediately fails when trying to scan to a network folder, however testing credentials from within the printer/scanner gui tests successfully
