Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I have checked and rechecked all the network and email (SMTP) settings via the EWS, and it will not pass the Email Setup test. The test runs for ~20 seconds, then reports "Invalid Credentials". The credentials were copied directly from my email app (Mac Mail). The wifi connection is good, printer works fine via wifi.

Hi @saddler28697,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet MFP 3301 is failing the Scan to Email test due to "Invalid Credentials," here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

  1. Verify SMTP Credentials:
    • Double-check the email address and password for any typos.
    • Ensure that the email and password are correct and current.

  2. Check Email Provider Settings:
    • Make sure you are using the correct SMTP server address and port number. For example, common ports for secure SMTP are 465 and 587.
    • Verify if your email provider requires SSL/TLS encryption and ensure it's enabled.

  3. App-Specific Password:
    • If your email account has two-factor authentication enabled, you might need an app-specific password for the HP printer. Generate this password from your email provider's account settings and use it in place of your regular password.

  4. Firewall/Antivirus:
    • Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the connection to the SMTP server.

  5. Verify Network Connection:
    • Confirm the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and has internet access.
    • Restart your router to resolve any potential network issues.

  6. Update Printer Firmware:
  7. Contact Email Provider:
    • Contact your email provider to ensure there are no restrictions or issues with accessing the SMTP server from your network.

After making the necessary adjustments, try running the Email Setup test again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
