Unfortunately in HP's infinite wisdom, they seem to have come to the conclusion that printing the fax confirmation page by default is taking too much paper. I need to have a fax confirmation page for my records so that I can quickly reference whether or not that fax has been sent. I send way to many faxes to cross reference a fax report from days, weeks, or months ago to see whether it went through when I talk with agents at insurance companies or attorneys. Please someone help me get the confirmation page to print automatically.
I don't have time to manually go find the confirmation page every time I send a fax so it needs to be automatic after the fax has been successful or not.

@lztmassage, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
To set up your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301cdw to print a confirmation page automatically, you generally need to access the printer settings through the Embedded Web Server (EWS) or the printer's control panel if it supports those options. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Using the Printer's Control Panel
Access the Menu:
- Press the Menu or Setup button on the printer's control panel.
Navigate to Reports:
- Use the navigation buttons to scroll to the "Reports" or "Print Reports" section and select it.
Select the Configuration Page Option:
- Look for an option labeled "Config Page" or "Configuration Page."
- Select this option to print the configuration page.
Enable Automatic Printing of the Configuration Page:
- This is generally an information printout. If you're looking specifically for a confirmation page that prints automatically after specific actions (like sending a fax or completing a print job), look for options related to "Fax Reports" or "Job Completion Reports" within the settings.
Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Access the Printer’s IP Address:
- Enter the printer’s IP address into a web browser. This will open the EWS.
Log in as Administrator (if prompted):
- Use the correct admin credentials. Default setups might require you to enter a default admin password; check your printer documentation for specifics.
Navigate to Reporting/Jobs Settings:
- Look for a section within EWS for "Reports," "Configuration," or "Job Log."
- Here you can usually find options to configure the automatic printing of confirmation pages.
Set Up Automatic Confirmation Pages:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set the printer to automatically print a confirmation page. This might be under sections like "Fax Settings," "Print," or "Device Reports."
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate it, but it didn't matter, because this printer is a piece of garbage.
I wound up returning this printer because HP didn't apparently spend enough time testing this one before they shipped it. I had multiple paper feeding issues with it. First the multipage scanner folded over my pages when I was faxing. Next the tray1 tray would only load up 1 page then cause an error for the next, as it would put a crease in the next pages and not load them. I thought, "Oh, maybe there is a flaw with the manufacturing of my 1st printer so I went and tried another of the same model, to no avail. It also had the exact same issues.
HP needs to recall this model and spend a little more time testing, shipping crap like this is not the way to make a good name for yourself.
