Hi,

I have setup the 'scan to network folder' option on my printer that is working well.

I would like to set (or manually choose) the scan size option 'Entire Scan Area' which is available via the mac HP Smart Utility however that optoin is not available as far as I can see.

I have tried the other scan settings and none cover the same size scan as what I can achieve via the HP Smart Utility however I need to use the 'scan to network folder' option. I am hoping to confirm if there is a method to achieve this 🙂

Hi,

Such an option is available within the scanning software, it is not available for Network folder.

You may select Automatic if such option is available for an M479 printer and check if that works for you, if not you must select the exact size for network folder scanning.

Hi,

I was afraid that might be the case. Unfortunately the 'automatic' option still cuts off information that is captured using the softwares 'Entire Scan Area'.

Seems that if the printer is capable of scanning with that mode then it should/could be available via network scanning. Is there a feature request process or a workaround that is available as it seems like an abitrary limitation at this point.

Thanks,

Matt

I am surprised there is not an option to set a custom size scan that would cover the whole glass. It may be a limitation of the image processing software built into the device.

Agree, I am also surprised. Would be good to understand where that limitation is and if there is work to address it.

It does seem odd as the scanner itself is clearly capable so it seems that the limit is just the ability to send the instruction to not trim that area.
