Hi @SUSAN_LO,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Color LaserJet CP5225dn is printing slowly, there are several potential issues that could be causing the slowdown. Here’s a structured approach to diagnosing and fixing the problem:

1. Basic Checks

Restart the Printer:

  • Power off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes clear temporary issues affecting performance.

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that there are no error messages or warning lights on the printer’s control panel.

2. Print Quality and Speed Settings

Check Print Quality Settings:

  • In the printer driver settings on your computer, check if the print quality is set to “High Quality” or “Best.” Printing at high quality can slow down the printer.
  • Switch the setting to “Normal” or “Draft” if high quality is not necessary.

Adjust Print Speed Settings:

  • Some printers have settings that control print speed. Check the printer’s settings menu for any options related to speed and adjust them if necessary.

3. Printer Driver and Software

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your printer.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • On your computer, remove the printer from Devices and Printers or Printers & Scanners.
  • Reinstall the printer using the updated drivers from HP.

4. Network and Connectivity

Check Network Connection:

  • If the printer is networked, ensure that the network connection is stable. A slow or unstable network can affect print speed.

Use a Direct Connection:

  • If possible, connect the printer directly to your computer via USB to see if it improves the print speed. This can help determine if the issue is network-related.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
