I an not able to scan nor copy. I can print though.

When I turn this printer on the scan/copy screen does not slide all the way over to to right.

The message screen says: "The original is jammed in the automatic document feeder (ADF) Open the ADF cover, remove and reload the original, and then try again.  There is no original paper to be scaned, ADF is empty.  Nor any torned paper anywhere, either.

 

(Also, if you tap the 'OK" on the message screen it will not allow me to advance to any other different screen.  It will always stay on the same message; as I quoted above).

 

I have tried the other possible solutions also. Turn off and back on. Tried pulling electric plug from outlet and from printer, wait the required off time, then re-plugged, then back on, etc. Please help!

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that you are unable to scan or copy, I am glad to assist you.

You might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer to fix this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.  

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
