There seems to be a workaround: Try the MAC preview app. Under File there should be an option "Import from <printer>". Try this option ! Worked for me...

yes, but it doesn' work if you launch the scan by the printer directly...

I have a new MacBook Pro and scanning worked fine until I updated to Ventura 13.0.1 with HP Office Jet Pro 8600.  After that update, scans are now blank.  Help!  I'm about ready to take my new MacBook Pro back to Costco.

The workaround from Catfish** above worked for me.   I go into Preview app and choose "Import from scanner" and the scanner is no longer blank.  No idea how/why it works.   This is for an HP Colorjet.

Same here. My HP all in one printer scanner produces blank pdfs and jpgs. Printing is no problem.

I have the same issue with scanning, copy doesn't work either . Apple told me to try Image Capture but that dissent can either.

Tried this. It does  bring up a sinner page, but when I hit the scan button, the small error message comes up

Same here.  Things are very flaky now.  Support to me that Ventura will not support scanning from the printer to the computer - you have  to use the (not so) Smart App. argh!

My issue turned out to be the old HP MFP 127 printer. The ‘light bar’ would not move back and forth to copy or scan .  Not worth fixing .  Bought a new printer and print, scan, copy work fine. Even under Ventura.

Hello I run a 6500 A plus on the WIFI of my house .  

I have a MacBook Pro Ventura 13.1. I. I installed the printer it scans, however, after I close the scan session and want to open a new scan session I need to reinstall the printer. After I reinstall it it scans again.  Brilliant huh?

Could you please help?
