Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan

Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP 1536dnf MFP.  I've probably had it for more than a decade at this point.  It is a great little printer.  Works better than any other I've ever had.

While there have been frequent issues with my android phone to print with it. I am surprised to find there are now issues with my new Lenovo Yoga.

Do I really need to go through the HP servers to be able to print to my local printer?  Or scan?  This just seems wrong on so many levels.  If HP will no longer allow me to keep my scanned, printed, and faxed materials private, between my computer and my printer, I'm going to be looking for work arounds, that could mean finding a new printer that will accommodate my desire not to be spied on or introduce a new hacking opportunity.

I'm really hoping it won't come to that.  I really do like my little printer.

Someone please tell me how I can print and scan directly between my computer and my printer

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Edit / Update - Remove extraneous comments about data collection.

HP collects non-specific machine information about device health, connection types, and other not-private data --

Opt out of such options in your printer software.

Which leads to the second part of your question:

This older printer no longer supports a full driver printer software solution in Windows 11.

Said another way:  The printer is not supported in Windows 11.

It's perhaps time to consider a replacement.

True - You have a choice - should you decide to stick with HP, we will be here if you need us.

Is there a full version for Windows 10 that still works? (Wondering if my new Lenovo Yoga can run on Windows 10)..  I just bought 2 new toner cartridges.  (Because that's how much I like this printer)

It's ridiculous to think I'll have to toss working equipment because someone decided not to support it.

As for HP spying on me. I don't think they would.  Could they be forced to provide information to law enforcement or homeland security without my knowledge, absolutely.  Am I doing anything (or planning to do anything) illegal? No.  But in this really crazy world we're living in who's to say that the government is going to fully respect my 4th amendment rights.  The Patriot act, which continues to be reauthorized by Congress, has stripped away many 4th amendment rights having to do with phone usage, GPS data. ISP data. Etc.

I frankly don't understand why it should be a requirement that individuals not be permitted to print directly to their own printing devices.

The 4th amendment is in part right to allow individuals to stay anonymous while going about their daily lives, like printing kids homework, or new resumes or potluck sign ups...

I imagine it's only a matter of time before we're not printing anything at all.  I was hoping that my two new cartridges would gete there.

The simple answer is the same:

You need not share private information with HP to scan, print, or fax.

Yes, a quick check of the Software and Drivers webpage confirms there is full driver printer software listed for Windows 10.

Find the installation package for Windows 10 on this webpage:

HP LaserJet M1536 Full Feature Software and Driver

Download package > Save > Right-Click on the installation Package > Run as Administrator

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

Using USB?  (Re)Connect when instructed to do so.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.
