HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer

I bought a HP all in one.   It scans from the glass but it does not scan from the feeder.   It does not pick up the paper.   I have placed only a few pieces of paper and than more but that does not help.   Please give me advice on what to do.

Hi @Irma41,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 4155e All-In-One Printer is not picking up paper from the feeder when scanning, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to address the issue.

Check for Jammed Paper:

  • Open the scanner lid and check for any jammed paper in the document feeder.
  • If you find any jammed paper, gently remove it.

Use Correct Paper Type:

  • Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper as specified in the printer's manual.
  • Adjust the paper guides in the feeder to match the paper size.

Clean the Rollers:

  • Dust and debris on the rollers may affect paper pick-up. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth and distilled water. Consult your printer manual for specific instructions on cleaning.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Make sure your printer has the latest firmware. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates and follow the instructions to update if necessary.

Adjust Paper Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper settings in the printer software or control panel match the paper you are using.

Inspect Document Feeder Sensors:

  • Check for any sensors in the document feeder area. If they are dirty or obstructed, clean them carefully.

Always refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions and guidelines

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
