My document feeder will not scan. It keep producing a blank scan and it is not scanning into my computer or moving thorugh the document feed.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Document Feeder that does not scan! 

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.  

  

I hear you—it can be really frustrating when you place your pages in the feeder, but all you get back is a blank scan and no movement. Let’s try a few things to get it working again:

 

Check the paper path – Gently open the feeder and make sure no tiny scraps of paper or dust are blocking the rollers. Even something small can stop the pages from moving.

 

Clean the scanner glass & strip – Wipe the main glass and the narrow strip glass (usually on the left side) with a soft, lint-free cloth. Smudges here often cause blank scans.

 

Reset the printer – Turn off the printer, unplug it for about a minute, then plug it back in and power on. This refresh can sometimes wake up the feeder.

 

Test the flatbed – Place a page directly on the flatbed and scan. If that works, the issue is isolated to the feeder.

 

Update software – Make sure your HP Smart app or scanner driver is up to date on your computer. Outdated drivers can block scans from reaching your PC.
