Hi @Loadmap,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are experiencing a black blotch on scanned pages when using the document feeder of your HP DeskJet 3752 All-In-One Printer, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

  • Inspect the Glass and Document Feeder: Open the scanner lid and inspect both the flatbed glass and the document feeder for any dirt, debris, or smudges. Clean them thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Clean the Scanner Head: The black blotch may be caused by dirt or dust on the scanner head. Carefully clean the scanner head with a soft, lint-free cloth. Be gentle to avoid damaging the scanner.
  • Check the Scanning Glass: If there is a blotch on the scanned pages, there may be something on the glass inside the document feeder. Inspect and clean this glass as well.
  • Check for Ink or Toner Smudges: If you have recently printed documents, there could be excess ink or toner on the page that is transferring onto the scanner glass. Make sure that printed pages are fully dry before scanning.
  • Replace or Clean the Scanner Head: If the issue persists after cleaning, there may be a problem with the scanner head itself. It could be dirty or malfunctioning.
  • Check for Damaged Documents: Inspect the documents you are scanning for any tears, folds, or marks that might be causing the blotch during scanning. Even small imperfections on the paper can affect the scanning process.
  • Adjust Scan Settings: Check the scan settings on your printer's control panel or scanning software. Make sure you are using the appropriate settings for your document type and quality. Sometimes, adjusting the settings can improve the scan quality.
  • Firmware and Software Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware updates installed. Sometimes, updating the printer's software can resolve scanning issues.
  • Test with Different Documents: Try scanning different types of documents to see if the issue is consistent or specific to certain documents. This can help identify whether the problem is with the scanner or the documents themselves.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a hardware problem with your printer's scanner.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
