My HP Envy 7640 will print but not scan - tried all the obvious things HP suggests.

 

I have had it about  8 years - should I just buy a new one?

My same problem.  I reinstalled the driver (and lost all my others) but I can't get it to be recognized as a scanner.  When I try to open the app, it either says it is already in use, or says it cannot find it.

A few months ago, I changed my wi-fi address and it now recognizes it and is on the network.  But the printer won't scan, and also I am unable to make a copy of any document as all I get is a page full of ink (so wasteful!)

Please help.  The printer was purchased in May 2021.

Please do not close this out.  I am still unable to scan.  I have tried everything but to no avail.  All  your suggestions and the doc you included for Pindario, I tried.  What else can I do?
