My MFP M234sdw will not scan documents either from the feeder or glass. It will print from my computer.  I have turned the printer and Laptop on and off and rebooted to n avail.

I understand your HP MFP M234sdw is unable to scan documents from both the feeder and the glass, but it can still print. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:


Check Connections:
 

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or network. For network connections, make sure both devices are on the same network.

Restart Devices:
 

  • Power off both the printer and your computer. Wait for about 30 seconds and then turn them back on to reset the connection.

Update Printer Software:
 

  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers and software installed for your printer. You can download these from Official HP® Support.

Check HP App or HP Scan:
 

Scan Functionality Check:
 

  • Test scanning functionality via both the Auto Document Feeder (ADF) and the scanner glass. Sometimes, issues may affect one method but not the other.

Firewall and Antivirus:
 

  • Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software to see if they are blocking the scanning service.

Driver Reinstallation:
 

  • Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers. Ensure you are using the correct drivers specifically for the HP MFP M234sdw.

Check Printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS):
 

  • Access the Embedded Web Server of the printer through a browser to check for any misconfigurations or alerts.
