My machine scans spontaneously without a command and will not stop scanning, often interrupting printing jobs. Also, on a possibly related issue, many printing jobs are cancelled during printing and start-up after a few seconds only to try again. I often have to accept what pages print, exit out of the print job, and then print the pages that did not print the first time. I am hoping both issues are related and can be fixed at the same time.

I followed the steps and powered off the printer as suggested in a previous inquiry but it did not solve the issue. The person responding to the question with suggestions identified themselves as an HP employee and said they would contact the inquirer with a private message.
