Hi @Chief2930,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is displaying a vertical line just left of center on printed pages, there are several potential causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the problem.

Inspect the Toner or Ink Cartridge:

  • Ensure that the toner or ink cartridge is properly installed.
  • Check for any visible defects on the cartridge, such as leaks or damage.
  • If the cartridge is low on toner or ink, replace it with a new one.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Your printer may have a dirty printhead. Consult your printer manual for instructions on how to clean the printhead. Many printers have a utility or menu option for printhead cleaning.

Check for Paper or Debris:

  • Inspect the paper path for any stuck paper or debris that may be causing the line. Even a small piece of paper or debris can affect print quality.

Run a Printer Diagnostic:

  • Most HP printers have a diagnostic or self-test page that you can print. This page can help you identify any issues with specific colors or areas. Refer to your printer manual for instructions on how to print a diagnostic page.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific printer model.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Some printers have firmware that can be updated to address performance issues. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model.

Inspect the Imaging Drum or Transfer Belt:

  • If your printer uses an imaging drum or transfer belt, inspect them for damage or wear. These components can sometimes cause print quality issues.

Perform a Power Cycle:

  • Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

Print from Another Device:

  • If possible, try printing the same document from a different computer or device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the printer or the computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
