We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

This printer has scanned thousands of pages to mail. Today, it suddenloy gives a security error when trying to do so. Suggests to update the server security settings, or to switch off the security . Have discovered you can do that via the embedded software page, behind the ip address of the printer. Updated it all, and tried all valid combination of e-mail address, password, port number. Even tried creating a new non-**bleep** address, switching off /on the 2-factor authentication on **bleep**... everything, but it seems this printer can suddenly no longer correctly pass on a combination of account & password to an smtp server... What can I do?

You need to use the "app password" that att, y.ahoo or g.m.ail use when two step is enabled.

 

Bring up the browser and create the app password.  Use that password on the printer.  You might have to look at the ISPs web site to find the setting for SMTP.  If using outlook on a PC then the same "app" password and settings are used for the printer as used on the PC.
