My laserjet printer MFPM29W is giving me an error code -9923 when trying to scan.  There is no problem printing.  How can I fix this?

@Sharyl2, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

If the printer is idle, try to wake the printer before scanning.

 

Ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
