Hi @RAMY-1988,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP DeskJet 2320 is unable to scan using the HP Smart app, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Ensure Printer and App are Up-to-Date

  • Make sure your printer firmware and HP Smart app are updated to the latest versions.

2. Check Connections

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB.

3. Restart Devices

  • Turn off the printer and the computer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer and the computer.

4. Check HP Smart App Permissions

  • Ensure that the HP Smart app has the necessary permissions to access the scanner.
    • On Windows, go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and ensure that HP Smart has permission to use the camera.
    • On macOS, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy and check that HP Smart is allowed to access the scanner.

5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP Support website. This tool can diagnose and fix common issues with scanning.

6. Check Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service

  • Ensure that the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service is running.
    • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Scroll down and find Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
    • Right-click and select Properties.
    • Ensure the Startup type is set to Automatic and the service status is Running.

Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
