Hi @NewJerseygirl,

I understand you just bought a new HP 6555e and want to add an existing scanner address so it shows up on your printer screen. Here’s how to do it.

1. Make Sure the Scanner is Network-Accessible

The scanner you want to add must be on the same network as your HP 6555e.

Confirm its IP address or network name.

If it’s a network scanner shared via another PC, ensure that PC is powered on and connected.

2. Access the Printer’s Scan Settings

On the HP 6555e touchscreen, tap Scan.

Select Scan to Network Folder or Scan to Computer depending on what type of scan destination you want.

3. Add a Network Scanner or Folder

For Scan to Network Folder:

Tap Manage Destinations or Add Destination.

Enter the scanner’s network name or IP address.

Provide the required credentials if prompted (username/password for shared folder).

Name the destination so it appears on your printer screen.

For Scan to Computer:

Ensure HP Smart or HP Scan software is installed on the computer.

The printer should automatically detect computers running HP software on the same network.

If it doesn’t, open HP Smart, add your computer, then it will appear as a scan destination on the printer.

4. Test the Scan

Select the newly added scanner/destination on the printer screen.

Perform a test scan to ensure it works properly.

I hope this helps.
