Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 11

I installed a new Cable modem. After shutting everything down and restarting, everything is connected to the new wireless network. The HP Office Jet printer works from all my devices (both wired and wireless). The printer is cable connected to my computer. The scanner does not work from my computer even after many shut downs and restarts. Any ideas?

Hi @NagsHeadNC,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the scanner drivers or the connection between your computer and the scanner. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check Scanner Connection: Make sure the USB cable connecting the scanner to your computer is securely plugged in at both ends. If the cable is loose or damaged, it could cause connectivity issues.
  • Restart Computer and Scanner: Sometimes simply restarting both the computer and the scanner can resolve connectivity issues. Make sure to power off both devices completely, wait a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
  • Update Scanner Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP Office Jet printer/scanner. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues with new hardware or network changes.
  • Check Firewall and Security Software: Sometimes, firewall or security software settings can interfere with the scanner's ability to communicate with your computer. Temporarily disable any firewall or security software and see if the scanner works. If it does, you may need to adjust the settings to allow the scanner to communicate.
  • Check Scanner Settings: Make sure the scanner is set up correctly on your computer. You may need to go into the Control Panel or System Preferences (depending on your operating system) to check the scanner settings and ensure it's recognized by your computer.
  • Test on Another Computer: If possible, try connecting the scanner to another computer to see if it works. This can help determine if the issue is with the scanner itself or with your computer.
  • Reset Network Settings on the Scanner: If the scanner has network capabilities, try resetting its network settings and reconnecting it to your wireless network.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the issue with your scanner.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
