Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Product: HP Pavilion & HP Envy 6230 Photo all in one
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Although it took me an age, I finally got my new HP Envy 6230 Photo all in one installed and HP Smart now finally recognises it as online and available. When I select Scanning from the HP Smart App the error message is 

Scanning is currently unavailable, please select home to check your printer is connected  and active, once connected return here to scan. 

Despite my printer being connected to my WiFi and connected to my laptop

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Can you download and install the FULL featured printer software from HP for your operating system:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-envy-photo-6200-all-in-one-printer-ser...

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Installed all drivers but the installation process still does not find my printer.

Despite all networks being connected. WiFi is working fine and HP smart can see my printer. 

I can print via HP Smart but scanning is still showing as unavailable.
