Hello,

 

I've recently bought HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M282nw (Model 7KW72A) and cannot find anywhere the option of 1200 dpi scan resolution despite stated in the model's specs.

It's not shown in HP Smart App including management GUI of the printer.

I'm running the latest firmware - 20200603.

Hi,

make sure the Scan Source is set to Flatbed Glass and check if higher resolutions are available then.

 

If 300 DPI is still the highest resolution, follow HP Easy Start to install the latest HP Full Feature or Basic Software option:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/HPEasyStart_12_1_5139_03.exe

 

Open HP Scan and change the Scan Source to Flatbed Glass, then higher resolutions becomes available for selection.

Hi Shlomi,

 

Thank you for the suggestion to install HP Easy Start.

 

Actually, I didn't try it, but first installed HP Scan Extended and NAPS2 (Not Another PDF Scanner 2) as was recommended somewhere in this forum and this solved the issue with 1200 dpi scan resolution. This setting is configurable from within those programs. Ordinary HP Smart and printer's web configuration interface are still showing either 300 or 600 dpi as maximum scan resolution.
